Filling Materials

There are now much improved materials available from all over the world that bond to the tooth surfaces.

The materials are closely matched to the natural colour of your teeth and are built directly onto the tooth thus giving us total control over the thickness, anatomy and colour. This is more than can be achieved by a restoration fabricated in the laboratory. Adjustments may also be made so that, you the patient, can become more involved in the whole process.

Further, it is very easy to make alterations to this material in the future. It can be added to and re-contoured very easily. Modern materials appear to wear at the same rate as natural tooth substance and any wear in the material can be easily rectified. The tooth surface is carefully cleaned of stains and the new materials are bonded directly onto the clean tooth surfaces. The new materials ability to bond onto the tooth structure makes the tooth stronger and less likely to fracture in the future.

These modern materials aid the minimal intervention dentistry that we aim to provide.
